About MCA

Educational Objectives

It is the administration’s desire to have a balanced educational program where excellence permeates the spiritual, academic, physical, and social aspects of the learning process. It is also the school’s intent, when possible, to help in the reinforcement of the Christian values taught at home. When the philosophy, values, and lifestyle of a Christian home complements the school, the student benefits most from that union.

MCA recognizes a Christian home as one having at least one parent who is born again. Children from Christian homes will have priority for enrollment.

Christian Curriculum

The curriculum chosen by MCA complements its philosophy. Material is selected to teach Biblical values of right and wrong and is intended to lead students to the development of Christian character. It also guides students to a realization of God’s will for their lives and tries to equip them to fulfill that will.

The primary institutional goal is to produce students with an excellent academic preparation from a biblical point of view. A school may be known for many things, but the educational value of a school is the factor that determines its justification for existence. For this reason, Maranatha does not accept students who have been expelled or dismissed from other schools. Neither should MCA be thought of being as a “reform” school or a “haven for the troubled”.

Fine Arts & Athletics

Fine arts and athletics are the two most valuable support programs. However, they are both secondary to the academic needs of the students but equal in importance to the physical and cultural development of the participants. Students are encouraged to participate in both the fine arts and athletic programs as part of their complete education. However, the school is not properly serviced by these programs when either one supplants the other. A balance of strong academics coupled with invigorating programs of fine arts and athletics gives a school the opportunity to fully equip students within the guidelines of its purpose.

Parents who desire this type of an educational environment and learning atmosphere for their child(ren), are welcome at Maranatha Christian Academy.

Maranatha Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policy, financial aid program, athletic, fine arts, and other school-administered programs.
