The Auction that Keeps on Giving!

Dear Friends of Maranatha Christian Academy,

Let me just give you a report on the latest happenings at Maranatha. As you well know our safe was stolen containing all our proceeds from our "Making a Difference" auction. I am grateful to the LORD and so many of you that gave of your time, articles and strength for the auction. It was a great success, we were able to raise close to $12,000.00. The purposes of the funds as you may know were to help us meet our budget short fall. We knew in November the great faith that it would take for the school to continue but as a church family it was decided to prayerfully press on. It was determined that with tuition we could still have a shortfall of as much as $100,000.00 to complete the year. Each month God has met our needs and for this we have been so humbled and strengthened in our walk. Our teachers have given of themselves in so many ways and the Lord has been gracious to meet our payroll needs. With the different fund raisers and cut backs we have been able to reduce our expected shortfall by over half. The funds from the Auction were to go toward our next payroll and when it was stolen it was very heart breaking.

As the word got out about what happened the phone began to ring to inquire of the need. We have expressed to every reporter that the majority of the auction proceeds would be replaced because they were personal checks. Every donor from our community has wanted to help even though the funds were slowly being replaced. This is the blessing that we just have not expected and that we have truly been thankful for. Our auction has continued and still is going on. We now call it “The Auction that Keeps on Giving”. This out pouring of love and support to help us end our year in the black is such a blessing.

I never doubted that God would meet the need for our school and for our teachers but I did not know how HE would do it. We need to; praise Him for His faithfulness, be sure our own hearts are right with God, purpose to please HIM through this situation, see who we will be able to reach for Christ and what else God will do through this in all our lives.
